On December 5th at 11:30 AM, the Dallas ISD Administration will brief the Board of Trustees. The briefing will include a proposal for the future of Walnut Hill as a K-8 International Languages school.

Walnut Hill Elementary School has been chosen as a 2019 national blue ribbon school
for its work to close student achievement gaps.
The Walnut Hill Dad’s Club hosts monthly Friday night movies during which they serve hot dogs, popcorn, and drinks. Check back soon to find out when the next movie night will be. Parents are welcome to drop their kids off or stay for the show. It’s fun for the entire family.

All Our Students Learn Mandarin
Walnut Hill Elementary is the only DISD elementary school with a full-time Mandarin Chinese teacher. All Walnut Hill students are taught Mandarin as part of the standard school curriculum.
We are an Official Leader in Me Campus
Through a generous donation, Walnut Hill Elementary has become an official Leader in Me school. We will be using Franklin Covey’s Leader In Me curriculum to teach 21st century leadership and life skills to students and create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. All students participate in this award-winning leadership program on our campus.
We are Strong in Gifted Education
This past summer, all Walnut Hill teachers completed the training for educating gifted students. All of our teachers are certified gifted teachers and members of TAGT.
We Have the Top Rated Teachers in the District.
90% of Walnut Hill teachers are ranked as “Distinguished Teachers” by Dallas ISD’s TEI evaluation system based on their student data and performance. To earn the title of distinguished teacher, teachers must perform in the top 20% of all teachers in the district.
